PLAY DAY WITH THE PARROTS

Today was another play day with the birds. Shelley, Christine, Sherry and I had a wonderful day enjoying lunch, making toys, and interacting with the birds. Ben even got to come out and sit near Shelley to observe the goings on. In this photo, he was making kissing sounds to show Shelley just how much he appreciated her bringing him over. Bintel, a very active and vocal little Goffins cockatoo, insisted on being part of the action. Bintel suffers from ADD. He is hyperactive and cannot get enough attention. He was so happy to be included that he would leap onto the table full of toy making parts and jump and dance across the surface. We had some music playing and Bintel was the most spastic dancer! As Shelley held him, he would bounce and step and do an exorcist-like movement with his head that was hilarious! Bintel was definitely enjoying all the energy in the room.


Bintel even jumped into Shelley's lap to "help" with the construction of a bird toy! He wanted to be involved in everything! What a guy! All the birds enjoyed the group activity but the greys got a little perturbed at the zany antics of the goofy Bintel. It's interesting to observe the different personalities of the group.
