Kiku and Affection

Kiku and his daddy, Mark, spent some extra time the other day to demonstrate to Ben the value of affection. Ben, my old boy, will happily accept attention from Kiku and they will even preen each other. However, if you attempt to "pet" Ben or give him a "skritch", he will react with his sharp beak. It's like he just doesn't know any better. 30 years of reacting this way to a hand or finger is a tough habit to break. Mark would show Ben how Kiku gets his head skritched and loves it. Ben would watch.... Did we make any progress? No. Ben is Ben. But thanks Mark for spending the time to demonstrate your love for conures.
